Look, I’m all for animal rights but when PETA tries to raise that awareness through harmful and outright disgusting means, that’s where I draw the line.
Their latest offense? A game called “Mario Kills Tanooki”, obviously a piggyback attempt from PETA to use Super Mario 3D Land’s launch to raise awareness of their many campaigns.
I think I speak for all fans of Super Mario and Nintendo when I say that this is a revolting way of trying to attract to people to a cause as they are clearly trying to defame a household name for their own selfish means.
This is actually the second time they’ve done this. I think Nintendo took it down (obvious IP misuse). But what are their motives?
Here’s the quote: “Tanooki may be just a “suit” in Mario games, but by wearing the skin of an animal, Mario is sending the message that it’s OK to wear fur.”
Now what the actual fuck is that garbage?! Do they really think that’ll get someone to hop on board their train of misguided idiots?
I will not link directly to the game (I’ll be doing you a favor - read the linked news article), but I’m all for a take-down of this game. When it comes to trying to get people to join a cause, you can expect PETA to mess up in more ways than one.
